A popular Sheffield nightclub is preparing to make a comeback months after telling clubbers it was closing for good.

The Night Kitchen is due to host closing parties next Friday (June 9) and Saturday (June 10) at the former factory where it has been based since 2013 and is leaving to make way for redevelopment.

But what was set to be a final farewell could now be au revoir, with plans afoot to revive the club at a new venue.

A new home has been found and a crowdfunding campaign has been started to raise £15,000 to get it ready for a re-launch this September.

The Night Kitchen is currently based at a converted cutlery factory within CADS Works on Smithfield, in the Shalesmoor Area, where it has hosted acts from a wide variety of genres, including some of electronic music's biggest names.

Formerly operating under the name Dirty Little Secret (DLS), the club was initially a joint project between Party For The People and fellow social enterprise CADS.

The Night Kitchen announced in February that it would be permanently closing its doors, before revealing in May that a new venue - the location of which has yet to be revealed - had been found.

"The great news is.... we have a new space!!!" it wrote on the Crowdfunder website.

"The bad news is.... it needs a whole lot of work to get it off the ground!

"So we're asking you, our supporters in the underground community, for a bit of assistance in getting things going.

"We will have lots to pay for in order to get the building rave-ready, and are still in the very early stages of getting things sorted. We are really keen to transport the vibe and feeling of TNK to the new space whilst at the same time creating something unique and exciting, and above all providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place to party for our loyal fans."

The crowdfunding appeal was launched on May 18, and £1,642 has been pledged so far.

The opening parties at the new venue are scheduled for September 29 and 30, and those pledging money can secure themselves tickets for those events.

Other awards on offer include annual membership for pledges of £150 and over, and lifetime membership for anyone pledging £500.
