The latest plans to radically transform a run-down Sheffield park are set to be unveiled at a meeting this weekend.

Sheffield Council has promised £70,000 to fund improvements to Bingham Park, which is close to Greystones and Hunters Bar, and that sum could be topped up to as much as £250,000 with other income from grants and fundraising.

New tennis, table tennis, climbing and skating facilities are among a host of ideas previously suggested to improve the park and attract more visitors.

The Friends of Bingham Park, which is leading plans to revive the park, is holding a meeting at the park's bowling pavilion this Saturday (March 11) at 2pm to update people on the council's latest plans for the park. Anyone is welcome to attend.
