A man has been shot in the chest on a Sheffield street this afternoon.

The 23-year-old was reportedly in a black Mercedes when the shooting happened at around 1.35pm on Daniel Hill Terrace, in Upperthorpe.

He has been taken to hospital.

Police said: "At around 1.35pm this afternoon (Saturday 18 February), police received reports that a man had been shot outside of a property on Daniel Hill Terrace, Sheffield.

"A 23-year-old man is now at Northern General hospital with a suspected gunshot wound to his chest."

Police are currently investigating the incident and anyone with information is urged to contact them on 101 quoting incident number 571 of 18 February.

It is the second shooting in the city within the last week.

Another man, aged 25, was rushed to hospital after being shot on Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, on Monday night.
