Fundraisers have collected more than £600 for charity by completing a
5k run - dressed in their
onesie pyjamas.

The Donnie Onesie Run gave people the chance to run around the lake at Doncaster Lakeside to raise money for Brianwave, a charity which supports children with a wide range of conditions including cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, autism and developmental delay.

The event, which started at Doncaster Athletic Club at 10am, featured people of all ages running in onesies of all styles - from cows and tigers to popular children’s film characters Minnie Mouse and Minions.

Two mums pushed their children in prams around the track and Miss Doncaster - Charlotte Lister - was among the runners.

Richard Clarke, head of regional fundraising for Brainwave, said: “This was out first ever onesie run and we had brilliant feedback about the route and the location from runners.

“Everybody was smiling at the start of the race and everybody was smiling at the end of it, so they must have enjoyed it.
