I was very sorry to read of Leigh Bramall’s resignation as Deputy Leader of Sheffield Council.
He has worked hard and been an asset to the city.
One of his contributions has been the development of the Outdoor City Strategy.
This builds on the unique strength of Sheffield – our wonderful outdoors.
It has enormous potential – in terms of jobs and economic prosperity, and also in all of us being able to enjoy green space and countryside.
There have already been a host of improvements, such as the mountain-bi ke and running trails.
There were also the fantastic events of the Outdoor City weekend.
Now we have in prospect the redevelopment of the old Ski Village site, so that it can once again be something that Sheffielders can enjoy and be proud of.
I hope the council will reaffirm its commitment to the strategy, and make sure that we see all these benefits come to fruition.
