YOUR VERDICT: Is the Park Hotel right to ban flat caps?

The Park Hotel in Hillsborough has banned flat caps. Here's what you thought of the decision:

"I have never heard of anything so stupid! I can understand asking people not to wear headgear on match days but asking old people to remove their flat caps is ludicrous.

"I can see the point of view of the police saying it is difficult to identify people wearing hats or caps but how many football hooligans wear flat caps and are over 40 years old?"

Kevan Smith, aged 51, Manor.

"Making pensioners remove their flat caps in the name of 'security' just gives even more proof that, with no discretion given whatsoever, we are moving closer to a police state.

"Where did we hear 'I'm just following orders' before."

Peter Charles, aged 50, Hillsborough.
