Didn’t Julie Dore or Leigh Bramall notice that our Union flag was being displayed upside down on their recent trip to China?

There’s Julie Dore shaking hands with Wang Chunming behind the incorrectly displayed flag.

The picture has been circulated worldwide.

It fills me with despair every time I see it.

An upside down Union flag is an international sign of distress as well an insult to the crown.

It makes me feel like the £1 billion investment in Sheffield from the Sichuan Guodong Construction Group is already doomed.

Julie Dore had taken care to wear a panda scarf for the event, presumably to link with the Chinese.

More care should be taken on the details that really matter, like making sure our flag is displayed correctly.
