As a 93-year-old senior citizen, may I be allowed to comment on the referendum?

Before we look to the future for our children and grandchildren, perhaps we need to look at the past.
Men and women sacrificed their lives to make our country Great Britain.
During the last war in the 1940s, this great country stood alone. The world stood back afraid of the Nazi onslaught.
The Middle East was in turmoil. King Farouk of Egypt was under house arrest. Iran and Iraq had pro-German leaders, the Shah of Iran and Rashid Ali. In Norway we had Quisling and Mussolini of Italy teamed up with Germany. Even Spain’s General Franco said the Axis powers must win the war. All Europe was under the Nazi yoke. Our American friends only came in when they were attacked at Pearl Harbour.
It wasn’t the mandarins of Whitehall or the elite of the establishment who won the war, but Joe Public who didn’t run away when the going got tough but stood up to what we believe in, fighting for what we have inherited from our ancestors.
If we choose to remain in the EU we have lost our identity. This is not about jobs or investment, but consent to be dominated by unelected bureaucrats on the other side of the Channel.
The Duke of Wellington, Lord Nelson and Mr Churchill must be turning in their graves.
