Has Sheffield ever been a city of heritage, art and history? Don’t we already shop in Leeds, enjoy the arts in Manchester and absorb history in York?
Sheffield is a functional city and the focus seems to be on the three basic functions in life: work (unskilled, low paid), eat (many fast food outlets), die (too soon, for the above reasons). The rest is history, past and future, I’m afraid.
