I thought that the main reason for voting leave was for the British government to take back control of our country, but last week on the Opinion page, Mike Brady promoted the leave decision and stated that ‘the electorate does not trust MPs’.
At what decreasing size of democracy would Mr Brady trust his elected representatives: county or parish council?
How ironic then that this week, the Wallonia local government stopped an international trade treaty between the EU and Canada.
Perhaps ‘taking back control’ is going to be as elusive as the £350m promised to the NHS and there is much to be learnt from Europe!
