THEY once featured on this page because of their obsession with stalking celebrities.
But Woodseats couple Bruce and Sally Davis had a taste of stardom themselves last week when they appeared on This Morning.
The couple – who spend all their spare time trying to meet B-listers – were invited on to the ITV1 show to take part in its SoapStar SuperBrain quiz.
And, as you’d expect from a pair who spend almost as much time outside Granada Studios as they do at home, they won.
“We’re chuffed,” says sweet factory operative Bruce, 41. “But that was only the first round. Now we’ve got a quarter final to swot up for.”
That airs on August 15.
There was more good news for the couple too.
“We met Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford while there,” says Bruce. “So that’s two more for our ‘Stalker File’.”
AND talking of bizarre behaviour involving celebrities, a Star photographer was somewhat taken aback at Patrick Stewart recently.
The Huddersfield-born Star Trek legend was in South Yorkshire as guest of honour at University Campus Barnsley’s graduation ceremony last week.
Could we get a picture, our man wondered?
“Patrick’s too hot for photos today,” a publicist told him.
AN update arrives from former Diary stars Sheffield FC Futsal Club.
Regular readers may remember we revealed the team – which play a version of soccer invented in South America – is looking to establish the north’s first purpose-built futsal arena in Attercliffe.
They applied for £47,000 from Sport England. The bad news is they haven’t got the money yet. But the good news? The grants body says it likes the idea and wants more details.
Final decision in November. Good luck chaps.
AND finally a couple of people have asked what Wilsons’ snuff mill, featured in today’s main piece, smells like inside.
