A SMALL epilogue to today’s main Diary piece and Dean Bradley says the response to the idea of opening up Sheffield Cathedral has been hugely positive.
Quite right too, I reckon.
For one reason or another, I’ve been lucky enough to spend a fair bit of time in there since arriving in the city and it’s an absolutely stunning building.
The Dean will know well enough that you can’t please all the people all the time and there probably will be one or two objections but surely any scheme that shows off our glorious heritage to the maximum number of people is a scheme worth our support.
THERE’S plenty already been said on Jessica Ennis being denied a personal best in the 100 metre hurdles at the weekend.
The Sheffield heptathlete was furious after too few hurdles were put out at the Powerade Great CityGames - and you can’t blame her, can you?
I mean I know people are constantly carping about our education system but you’d have thought even in Manchester they could count the difference between nine and ten.
AND talking of running, good luck to everyone doing the Sheffield Half Marathon.
Regular readers may know I’ve recently started walking a lot on Sunday mornings. Who knows? Perhaps I’ll give this a bash next year.
