There are now four million people in the UK living with diabetes, but there remain many myths and misconceptions about the condition.
For this year’s Diabetes Week, running from June 12 to 18, Diabetes UK is looking to set the record straight and is calling on people living with diabetes to share their stories.
We hear every day from people with diabetes who encounter misunderstandings about the condition, both in their everyday lives and in the media. From confusion on the types of diabetes to the causes of the condition, and from the careful management that diabetes demands, to the fact that well-managed diabetes shouldn’t stop people from living full, long, and healthy lives, it is a complex condition that requires careful explanation.
This is a chance to tell the wider public what living with diabetes means, but we need people who are happy to explain their experiences.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org to help us to tell your story.
