HE is a self-described wild rocker and womaniser.
But could this shaggy-haired Sheffield musician be set to settle down after getting a girl on TV dating show Take Me Out?
Millions of viewers saw Richie Dews, 37, of Ecclesall, win a date with 26-year-old Natasha Tyers on the ridiculous-but-riveting Saturday night programme. The pair were flown to Tenerife and this week we’ll found out how it went.
So, as Cilla would ask, do we need to be buying hats?
“I’m not allowed to say,” says the Sheffield United fan. “But, put it this way, there’s never any harm getting your head measured.
“I’ve been single for a while and I knew there were some stunning chicks on the show so I went for it. I’m a rocker at heart but I suppose I’m now looking for that someone special.”
The show, hosted by Paddy McGuinness, sees a single man trying to impress 30 girls to win a date with one.
But Richie, former singer with local band The Brokenflowers, only had eyes for Tash, of Stamford.
“As soon as I saw her I fancied her,” he says.
And there are more Sheffielders to come. Two city girls are lined up to appear in February. Keep with The Diary for details. Take Me Out is on Saturday, 8pm.
