I lived in Page Hall for 33 years and it was lovely. Page Hall Road, the cinemas, shops, maypole, Meadow Dairy and Kramer’s pork shop. I remember during the war going for pork dripping for my dad’s packing-up.
There was no litter ever, people swept up and washed steps. I went to Trinity Church. There was no television. The rag man came round and gave you a donkey stone for the steps.
