The Star on Thursday stated that hundreds of taxi drivers in Sheffield have not got their licences here and don’t have local knowledge.
There have been taxi drivers here for more than 40 years who don’t have local knowledge.
During the 1970s we had a series of bus strikes and I used taxis to get home from work from the city centre back to Totley.
I always had to direct the driver and none of them could give me a receipt to claim back the fare.
They would sign anything, any piece of paper I had in my bag.
Nothing new there then.
