Have your say

“I’VE been imitated so well,” Jimi Hendrix famously said, “I’ve heard people copy my mistakes.”

But here’s one likeness the legendary guitarist surely wouldn’t have minded.

The picture by Sheffield artist Trevor Neal is just one in a new exhibition at Smart Art Galleries, in Baslow Road, Totley.

The local showcase, also features Sheffielders Lynne Wilkinson and Matt Wood, and runs to April 1.

Scoring success

THEY say they are putting the beauty into the beautiful game and the trio behind Sheffield football T-shirt company Goal Soul are certainly attracting people to their aesthetics.

The firm, based in Troutbeck Road, Nether Edge, and only set up in September, has seen custom double over the last month and has now launched its latest range.

Among the eight designs are Ruud Gullit as a tulip, Bruce Grobbelaar as an army scout and - the one you might see your Diarist wearing - Rene Higuita as a scorpion.

Unfortunately we said he was head chef. He’s actually a general manager. Apologies.
