Sheffield city council should be commended for agreeing to let China invest in the city.not once but twice.

While China is willing the government in London is not. The powers in London could not care less.

The new prime minister Theresa May still remains silent about HS2.

It was to go through Meadowhall, then Sheffield city centre followed by Mexborough.

Further east it will be Doncaster. Doncaster is served by a quicker service to London. It looks as if it will then be cancelled.

As to the northern powerhouse I do not think the prime minister knows what that means.

I will put my head on the chopping block and suggest that neither will happen.

If it does happen I will admit I got it wrong.
