I have every sympathy

Have your say

Regarding an email from Totally Cheesed off about the ignorant parking of parents at schools.

I have every sympathy with you and certainly know how extremely annoyed you must be.

We have much the same problem on Mount View Avenue near Mundella School.

Between 8.30 and 9am and again 2.45 to 3.15 you cannot find a parking space on the Avenue.

Double yellow lines at the top don’t mean a thing, neither do the newly-laid pavements. They think the council have done the pavements for them to park on.

If an emergency vehicle were to try and get down at school times they wouldn’t stand a chance.

We once made a comment and were more or less told “we shouldn’t have bought a house near the school!”

The thing is, when we bought the house 20 odd years ago there wasn’t a problem.

Most children actually walked to school in those days, now it seems they can’t walk more than 50 yards.

Mind you, saves on buying shoes I suppose.

Totally Cheesed Off, if I were you I would also park right by the offending vehicle in the middle of the road until they move, just keep your hand on the hooter until they move.
