Give Dennis a medal

Have your say

Thinking back to when I was a buffer to many silversmiths and pewtersmiths, I will never forget my first time at the wheel mixing buffing sand with oil (I was told it was whale oil, but being an apprentice you were told anything).

I remember my boss telling me to go for a long stand, so I went.

It took me ages to find it. What a divvy!

I was trained by the best, ie Tommy Brown, Eric Clewes, Albert Allen and many more names I can’t recall, but one person I do recall was a class silversmith I am proud to have known and worked with, Dennis Frisby.

If anyone deserves a medal for his dedication and quality of work, Mr Frisby does.

I wish I could see him now and talk about the good old days. We could tell a tale.
