Game changer?

Have your say

I read the front page article ‘Game Changer’ (May 13) and wrote the following poem.

Game Changer?

What ever happened to the interesting shops of yore

When one could spend all day shopping down the Moor?

Some will think me old-fashioned and maybe it’s just me

But Game’ and ‘scanty undies’ just aren’t my cup of tea

The Moor’s target audience is students it would seem

But I’m sure they’ll still prefer the shops at Devonshire Green

The market seems so dull and I’ve no use for a gym

But there’s one saving grace, my eyes are getting dim

So I must look on the bright side I expect

And look forward to a pair of fancy modern specs.

Like me, many customers are over seventy do not forget

We’re not that interested in a gym that is apparently called Sweat

Now I’m getting on and I don’t want to sound too sour

But isn’t it we ‘oldies’ who have the spending power?

Just take a look at Retro and see Sheffield of yesterday

Anyone will easily see that Sheffield’s sadly lost its way

I’m yearning for improvements, getting tired of the wait

For a Moor that’s suitable for everyone, before it is too late
