WOMEN across Sheffield are being asked to give up their knickers – and no, The Diary isn’t referring to the aftermath of a Saturday night in The Leadmill.
Female underwear is wanted by city homeless charity the Cathedral Archer Project.
“We offer our clients emergency clothing and we presently have a severe shortage of knickers,” explains project worker Sharon Collins. “So we’re asking people across Sheffield to donate new or unused underwear.
“Our supporters are always generous and we receive all sorts of clothing but not many knickers and we do have women who arrive with nothing at all.”
The charity, which provides food, shower access and laundry facilities, is looking for all sizes but mainly eight up to 18
“We distribute around two dozen pairs every month so we really hope the people – and women – of Sheffield will support us” says Sharon. To donate please take new or unused knickers to CAP at their Campo Lane headquarters.
