YOUR photos, their exhibition.
That’s the latest idea from Sheffield’s Bank Street Arts, a gallery that is nothing if not original. Or random. Depending which way you look at it.
They want your snaps to show in a new exhibition. The stipulations? None. Send any picture you want - the family taken at Christmas, a landscape shot on holiday, a concept snapped when bored - and if they like it, they’ll hang it up and call it art.
Submissions deadline is March 25.
PORNOGRAPHY, Einstein, the Velocity Tower.
It’s a night of presentations and with these subjects being discussed, eclectic is the watchword.
Sheffield’s fifth PechaKucha evening will see 12 experts talk on their chosen topics for just six minutes 40 seconds each. That’s a serious amount of information in a seriously short space of time so have your attention span set to ‘concentrate’.
There will also be live music and a magician.
Takes place March 24 at Sheffield University’s Fusion. Details and tickets at www.pkn05.eventbrite.com
Sean in the pub
IT’S Sean Bean as you’ve never seen him before.
Cartoonist Ian Baker has penned the legendary Sheffield actor as part of an exhibition being shown in a city centre pub from next week.
The display runs at the Rutland Arms, in Brown Street, March 14 - May 30.
