Sheffield United landed their pre-match odds of 13/8 with a relatively comfortable 2-0 victory over neighbours Bradford City who were reduced to 10 men in the opening seconds of the second half in their Sky Bet League 1 clash.

The deadlock was broken by Bob Harris in the 66th of the points seven minutes from time to move the Blades up to seventh in the table, just two points off third.

Sky Bet trimmed United to 9/1 for the title and 5/2 from 3/1 for promotion but Bradford, who slipped to eleventh, are out to 16s from 12s to reach the Championship.

The Blades host Yeovil at Bramall Lane tomorrow and are 4/6 with the league sponsors to claim another three points.

That was as good as it got for the region in League 1 with Doncaster and Barnsley losing away to Fleetwood and Peterborough respectively while Chesterfield were held at home by Oldham causing Sky Bet to push the Spireites out to 8/1 for promotion, Barnsley to 9s and Rovers 12s.

In the Sky Bet Championship Sheffield Wednesday slumped to a 3-0 home defeat to promotion contenders Watford and are now without a win in their last four league games. The Owls are 2/1 to arrest that slump at Brentford on Tuesday night while they are now 11/1 from 9s for promotion.

Rotherham are just two points behind the Owls after their thrilling come-from-behind victory over Leeds on Friday night which saw Sky Bet lengthen their relegation odds to 10/3 from 11/4.

The Millers were offered at odds of 9/1 in Sky Bet’s half-time Price Boosts to come back and win the match 2-1 ; the Championship sponsors make them 6/4 shots to claim another home win against Fulham on Tuesday.
