Youngsters will officially open a new play area which has been created at a cost of £41,000.
Pupils from Brookfield Primary School, Swinton, have been invited to perform the duty at the redeveloped site on Dun Street in the village on Tuesday.
The play area has been funded through £41,000 of tax credits from waste company WREN and Rotherham Council.
The playground is on an existing site and has traditional equipment with some natural features.
Swinton councillor Ken Wyatt said the new play area was exciting, safe and modern.
He added: “Work was carried out by a local company who won the contract which is also good news.”
