PUPILS from a Sheffield school will be out tidying war graves - with a little help from their local MP.
Paul Blomfield, Labour MP for Sheffield Central, is joining the youngsters from Heritage Park Community School.
They are going out tidying war graves in Walkley Cemetery in Sheffield on Wednesday as part of their ‘Who Cares?’ project.
The pupils came up with the initiative after seeing pictures of overgrown war graves and ‘were motivated to give something back to a generation that paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country’.
Teaching assistant Wendy Bolton said: “We’re extremely proud of the focus and determination our students have had to give something to the community.
“All too often young people can be seen to be part of a problem but with patience and guidance young people can learn skills and understanding which encourages them to be part of the solution.”
