YOUNG patients at Sheffield Children’s Hospital had a surprise visit from a top snooker player.
World Championship quarter-finalist Ryan Day, the former world number six, met Blake Munton, a massive snooker fan, aged 16, who is recovering from a brain tumour.
And Day, who went out 13-5 in the quarter-finals at The Crucible to fellow Welshman Matthew Stevens yesterday, gave Blake a snooker cue signed by all of the top players.
The cue had been donated by the tournament sponsor Betfred.com.
Three-time ranking event finalist Day, who has two young daughters, also met other children on the wards and chatted to them about the world championship tournament.
The 32-year-old is number 35 in the world rankings.
