Around 100 visually impaired youngsters are set to compete in an athletics day.

The four to 16-year-olds are signed up to take part in the Boots Opticians Actionnaires Athletics Day at Sheffield’s English Institute of Sport in Attercliffe on October 4.

The budding athletes are all members of Actionnaires clubs for blind and partially sighted children.

Attending from across the North of England and the Midlands, the children will take part in a variety of track and field activities including long jump, javelin and sprint events.
