Young boy seriously injured in collision with motorbike in Staveley

A young boy was seriously injured in a collision with a motorbike in Staveley.

Officers were called the A619 Lowgates shortly before 4pm on Saturday, April 23 following reports of the collision involving a Kawasaki motorbike and the youngster.

The boy, whose age has not yet been disclosed, was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where he remains.

The biker involved in the collision went to Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police closed the road as part of the investigation into the collision, re-opening it at 7.45pm that day.
