Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is celebrating after being awarded £25,000 by the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The charity is one of 63 to have received the cash to enable them to grow, develop and assess their own impact on society.
Clara Govier, Head of Charities at the People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “It is fantastic news that players are able to support these wonderful charities with an extra £25,000 each, with an amazing £1.575 million being awarded overall. We are very proud that our players can continue to support the development of these fantastic causes.”
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust plans to use the cash to inspire more to make a difference in their communities.
Chief Executive Rob Stoneman, said: “The ongoing support we receive from players of People’s Postcode Lottery makes an enormous difference to our vision of creating a Yorkshire rich in wildlife for everyone.
“We know wild places and experiences enrich our lives and we want to ensure that this is the case for many generations to come. By providing opportunities for people to access their local wild places we have a much better chance of safeguarding them.”
