VANDALS have attacked three public buildings at a Doncaster park, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage.
Locks and security shutters were smashed off windows and doors on the football pavilion and bowls pavilion at Hexthorpe Flatts. Another building was also vandalised.
The football pavilion had only recently been refurbished and considerable extra work will be needed to restore it to the state it was in, say officials at Doncaster Council.
Councillor Mark Thompson, the authority’s cabinet member for environmental services, said: “I’m shocked that vandals have targeted these communal buildings and have destroyed some of the hard work that went into refurbishing them recently.
“I hope that residents are still able to enjoy using the buildings despite this damage.”
Anyone with any information about the vandalism attacks is being urged to contact Balby and Hexthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team on 01302 385 339.
