Yobs damage cricket benches

vandals have smashed several of the wooden seats that surround the Tickhill Cricket Club ground in Alderson Drive and groundsman Brian Sissons has had to repair those that can be salvaged ready for the start of the new season.

Last week’s strong winds also brought down a mature flowering cherry tree growing on the grass verge at the corner of St Mary’s Road and Pinfold Lane, Tickhill.

Big build-up

bienvenidos, the Doncaster Spanish Society, meets at the School for the Deaf on Friday to hear an illustrated talk on modernist Spanish architecture. It starts at 7pm.

Bank demolition

a CONTRACTOR has been appointed to demolish the old bank in Misterton, near Doncaster, in the next few weeks so the site can be grassed over and then maintained by the parish council.

Beetle drive

SProtbrough Hall is the venue for a beetle drive on Friday evening from 7pm to 9.30pm to raise money for The Children’s Society. Supper is included in the £4 admission.

Heroes aid

A 1940s NIGHT concert organised in conjunction with Armthorpe Parish Council provided a donation of £300 for the Help For Heroes charity.
