a CONSERVATORY extension will be built at the front of a special school in Sheffield after plans were approved.
The single-storey addition, to provide ‘comfort space’, is for Bents Green Secondary Community Special School, which has been redeveloped in recent years.
A petition signed by 62 people, plus a letter, objected to the proposal.
They said the site was already overdeveloped, there was not enough car parking to meet staff needs and that people parked their cars on nearby roads, causing ‘highway safety problems’.
But a Sheffield Council planning committee heard there would be no increase in traffic.
The application was approved and councillors also agreed to refer problems with parking on to highways.
