The X Factor’s loss is Meadowhall’s gain as the a girlband from the show will perform at Meadowhall’s Christmas Concert.
Alien uncovered will join MOBO Awards’ Nominee Nick Brewer, International DJ Philip George and chart topper Sigala on Wednesday November 4.
Thousands took to social media to express their disappointment at seeing the six-strong group given the boot in the first live X Factor show.
The group, mentored by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, found themselves in the bottom two on Sunday night despite receiving rave comments from the judges - with music mogul Simon Cowell even calling them ‘the future’.
Alex Caley, Events Manager at the Centre said of the addition to Wednesday’s line up: “It was clear by the topic of conversations at work and on social media this morning that last night’s result was a real shock; we have seen a lot of support nationally and regionally for the girls so we have invited them to perform live at this year’s Christmas Concert in front of 15,000 people.
“We are really excited to host them at this year’s Concert taking place on Wednesday evening, and know that our crowd will give them a huge Yorkshire welcome!”
The girl band appeared on ITVs ‘Good Morning Britain’ on Monday morning and admitted their own “shock” after being booted off The X Factor in the first week. They hit the stage for the first time performing Jessie J’s ‘Do it like a dude’ with all four judges praising them for their unique style and attitude.
Speaking of their exit, Cheryl said: “I think maybe because they look so polished and almost ready to go that you would possibly vote for someone else, I don’t think it’s the last of them, I think it’s just the beginning.”
