Writers keep it in the family
SHEFFIELD crime-writing sisters Penny Grubb and Danuta Reah were out meeting shoppers in their home city, signing copies of their latest books.
The pair have won international awards for their crime writing.
Danuta has had a distinguished career in the literary field and has chaired The Crime Writers Association.
Penny is currently chair of the world’s largest writers organisation, The Authors Licensing and Collecting Society.
The two sisters signed copies of their books and chatted to fans at Waterstones in Orchard Square, and WH Smith on Fargate, in Sheffield city centre.
Danuta still lives in Sheffield, in Endcliffe, while Penny resides near Hull. Their older sister, Sue Knight, is a published poet.
Danuta’s new novella, Not Safe, focuses on the murder of an asylum seeker in Sheffield, while Penny’s latest trilogy follows the journey of a private investigator.
