World champ James leads egg run SLIDESHOW
BIG hearted bikers became Easter bunnies yesterday as they wound their way through Sheffield on a mission to deliver as much chocolate as possible.
The annual 'egg run', led by World Superbike Champion James Toseland, ensures that youngsters spending the Easter break in Sheffield Children's Hospital can still indulge.
Around 200 bikers joined James for the chocolate convey which started from South Yorkshire Police's Operations Complex in Tinsley.
Each biker paid 2 to take part in the run which is held annually to raise money for the Children's Hospital charity.
The cold weather and snow failed to dampen the bikers' spirits and they made their way through Attercliffe, the Wicker and West Bar before arriving at their destination - the Octagon car park opposite the Children's Hospital.
James then led the most important part of the mission - delivering Easter eggs to youngsters on the wards.
The egg run, now in its eighth year, is organised by the Three Shire Honda Owners Club in partnership with the police.
"We are delighted James Toseland decided to support us again this year by taking part in the run for the third time," said Simon Athey, fundraiser for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.
"The egg run is a wonderful event, our young patients love to see all the bikers arrive as it's always a spectacular sight."
