Architects David Cross and Jamie Hanson are turning to pedal power as they prepare for the challenge of the BHP Pootle in the Peaks.
David, managing director of Sheffield architectural practice Coda Studios, and Jamie, an associate director with the firm, have both signed up for the tough charity cycling trek this Friday which takes in some of the Peak District’s most beautiful locations – but also rises to heights of 6,700 feet above sea level.
“It’s 84 miles and this is the first time I’ve ever ridden a bike so I’ve been trying to put in a lot of training,” said Jamie, who will be raising money for Mencap, while David will be cycling for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
“We’ve had some support from Planet X Bikes in Rotherham who have helped to get us kitted out properly and make sure we’re ready.”
