A scheme to refurbish some town centre streets in Barnsley is due to begin.
The Urban Centre Infrastructure scheme, funded through the European Regional Development Fund Programme, is to get under way on June 30.
New paving, street lighting and street furniture will be installed.
Roads will also be resurfaced and crossing points will be improved.
Eldon Street, Regent Street South, Hanson Street, Royal Street, Regent Street, Eastgate, Market Hill and the Church Street footpath will all be upgraded.
Access to properties will be maintained through the duration of the work, which is expected to take around 11 months, but access could be restricted at times as work is carried out across business frontages.
