A CAMPAIGN to raise cash for Sheffield Wildlife Trust’s appeal to buy Greno Woods has been given a £350,000 boost through landfill tax credits.
The trust has received the cash from Viridor Credits Environmental Company, through the Landfill Communities Fund.
The charity wants to raise £1 million to enhance and restore the site in North Sheffield and boost wildlife there.
“This is great news,” said Roy Mosley, head of land management for Sheffield Wildlife Trust. “The funding from Viridor Credits means a great deal to the project.
“It goes a long way towards securing the long-term future of Greno Woods, which together with neighbouring woods form one of the most important blocks of woodland in the region for wildlife and recreation.”
