Woodhouse Prize Band is busy rehearsing for its upcoming Christmas concert, which will be held at St James Church, on Tithe Barn Lane in Woodhouse, next month.
The band, founded in 1853 and one of the oldest surviving brass bands in the country, is preparing for an evening of festive music and traditional carols designed to get local residents in the Christmas spirit.
The band will also be selling its first ever Christmas CD at the concert, recorded and produced right here in the city.
The doors will open at 7pm and the concert begins at 7.30pm on December 4.
Call 0114 2451142 or visit www.woodhouseprizeband.org.uk for tickets - £5 per person - and for details of the band’s other Christmas engagements.
