MORE than 1000 women gathered in Sheffield to help raised £7,000 for charity.

The 1,200 women attended Sheffield’s biggest Ladies Day event at Owlerton Stadium and raised more than £7,000 for Weston Park Cancer Charity.

The women, from across Yorkshire, flocked to the stadium dressed to impress, with many choosing to customise their dresses, hats and bags in a bid to scoop the much-coveted Best Dressed title at the greyhound meeting.

The evening included charity raffles, fashion & beauty stalls and a charity auction, in which a signed Wayne Rooney England shirt sold for almost £200.
