A woman has paid a visit to every Red Lion pub in South Yorkshire on her quest to visit all 630 in the country.
Cathy Price has spent the last four years on a mission to have a drink in every Red Lion pub after coming up with the challenge on a whim.
The 56-year-old has called in at the Gleadless Road, Charles Street and two Grenoside Red Lions in Sheffield, along with the pubs in Silkstone, Barnsley; Askern, Doncaster; on the A57 at Todwick; and in Rotherham town centre.
Cathy, who lives in Lancashire, said: “The two pubs in Grenoside - one on Penistone Road and one on Main Street - are the two closest together Red Lions along with two I’ve been to in Barnet in London.
“We ate in the Gleadless Road Red Lion and that had really good food.
“Silkstone was interesting because it had some history about it - the landlord bought me a drink and told me there was a child ghost.
“This is what makes my quest so interesting - coming across so many historical stories.”
Cathy has now visited 589 pubs and aims to finish her quest by the summer. Her 600th Red Lion will be the one at Gatwick Airport.
