A woman has been taken to hospital after her car overturned on the outskirts of Sheffield this afternoon.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, had to be cut free from her car by firefighters in the incident on Ridgeway Moor, which happened shortly before 3pm.

An air ambulance was called to the scene, along with firefighters from Staveley and Mosborough.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said the woman was taken by road to hospital in an ambulance for check-ups and had been in a ‘stable’ condition.
