Woman seriously injured in attack in Barnsley

A woman is in hospital after suffering serious injuries in an attack in Barnsley.

The 29-year-old was attacked in Farrar Street, Town End, on Sunday, July 17.

South Yorkshire Police said she is in hospital in a stable condition.

Dawit Gishe, of Farrar Street, Town End, has been charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, July 25.
