A WOMAN who died in a head-on car crash in Sheffield has been named.
Jill Creighton, aged 53, from Sheffield, was a passenger in a car that veered onto the opposite side of the road and hit a taxi on a left-hand bend on Crookes Road, near Roslin Road.
In a statement, her relatives said: “We, as a family, are devastated by our Jill’s tragic death. She was a loving mum, daughter and sister and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
“Her main priority was her daughter, who will have a huge gap in her life and who will miss her mum dearly.”
The driver of the Hackney cab, a 31-year-old man from the Little Sheffield area, suffered a head injury and a broken arm and leg. He is in the Northern General Hospital where his condition is still described as serious.
The driver of the black Honda car, a 46-year-old man from Pitsmoor, failed an alcohol test and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
