A woman was taken to hospital with fractures after jumping out of a flat from a second floor window.
The woman was in a property on Martin Street, Upperthorpe, Sheffield, when she realised she had been locked inside.
She told police her only way out was to jump.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were alerted to the incident at 5.50pm on Friday and the injured woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Her injuries were described as serious yesterday.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
“We were informed of a woman falling from a window.
“She had been locked in a flat by somebody else and decided to jump out of the window to get out.”
