Woman, 78, fights for life after car crash in North Anston

A female pedestrian aged 78 is fighting for her life tonight after being hit by a car.

She is in Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital with ‘life threatening ‘ injuries after the smash in North Anston.

Police say a white Ford Transit van emerged from Woodsetts Road and turned right onto The Baulk, heading towards Nursery Road, where it was in collision with the elderly pedestrian, opposite The Cutler pub, at around 1.35pm today.

The woman was local to the area.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Anyone with information about the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 621.
