A woman killed in a collision with a lorry was a 35-year-old from Barnsley, police have revealed.
She ended up trapped beneath a red and white Scania heavy goods vehicle on Grange Lane, Stairfoot, after the lorry stopped to allow a black vehicle to emerge from the roundabout at Doncaster Road.
The pedestrian crossed Grange Lane in front of the lorry, heading towards the Black Bull public house, as the vehicle set off.
Police said the woman suffered serious head injures and died at the scene.
