Police have appealed for witnesses to an arson attack on allotments in Barnsley in which racing pigeons and chickens were killed.

A number of bird sheds on two plots at the Hunningley Field site in Stairfoot were set alight at about 4am on Tuesday, March 15. Fire crews were called but the sheds were destroyed, killing all the birds inside.

Both allotment holders were left distraught by the attack.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone who knows anything about the fire to come forward. Call 101 quoting incident 98 of March 15.
