GREEN-FINGERED enthusiasts who came top in an annual contest were presented with their prizes in plush surroundings.
Winners of the Sheffield Gnomes Gardening Competition were crowned the cream of the crop by organisers in the most apt of settings - the Botanical Gardens.
There were five categories, including best front and back garden, best container/hanging basket and best sheltered scheme. The judges looked at the use of colour, creativity, tidiness and good gardening practices when making their decision.
Eleanor Kirk, of organisers, Sheffield Homes, said: “The standard has been inspiring. It has been a tough decision for the judges.”
